The Surgical and Specialty Services Department at UCVH is located at the side of the building near Rehabilitation Services.  It houses a variety of offices and exam rooms that serve as a Colebrook “home” base for a variety of Provider Specialists.  Keeping patients close to home for their medical care is important to us, so we are proud of the fact that we have been able to get the Specialists to travel here to see patients, instead of our patients having to travel.

Our General Surgeon, Dr. Joseph Kiernan, is employed by UCVH.  He sees patients in the office and performs general surgery at UCVH the first two full weeks of every month.  He also helps out at Weeks Medical Center by participating in their "on call" schedule.  Dr. Kiernan performs laparoscopic and open procedures, such as hernia repairs, gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, bowel surgery, etc., and diagnostic outpatient procedures such as colonoscopies, EGD’s, skin lesion removals, etc.

The list below represents Specialty Providers who travel to Colebrook from where they are based.  We are fortunate to have this partnership as it allows for Providers to share time at both facilities, providing an opportunity for more patients to be served.
  • Cardology - Catholic Medical Center
  • ENT (Ears, Nose Throat & Allergy) Specialist
  • Neurology
  • Orthopedics - Weeks Medical Center
  • Urology
  • Pulmonology
  • Sleep Medicine
  • OB/GYN
  • Podiartry - Weeks Medical Center

We are always looking to expand our list of Specialists available, so check in with us periodically to find out what new Specialists we may have added. Appointments can be made for General Surgery or any of the traveling Specialists by calling at 603-388-4330.
